To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;
To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; and
To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.
PTSA Membership
Our students, along with our parents and teachers, can join the PTSA, which makes them voting members of a local, state, and national organization that lobbies on behalf of all children. Here at Discovery that is something we take very seriously.
As a PTSA, we hold monthly board meetings at which time we plan events, allocate funds, discuss current legislation affecting our children and most importantly, discuss what is happening right here at Discovery. Board members include parents, teachers, staff members and administrators. We are always looking for new faces and new ideas so please consider joining our board. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month, at 7:00 PM in the Media Center. And don't forget to join the PTSA! Each membership is a vote for our children!
